The TRA Paraplanner role will be suitable to someone who has a background in Paraplanning. You will be part of a central Paraplanning team based in Reading, and responsible for delivering high quality reports to Financial Planners specifically focused on defined benefit transfer advice.
The role will be focused on delivering advice reports on defined benefit transfers and the suitability of options such as personal pensions, annuities, flexible drawdown or remaining within the scheme. The role initially will be to focus on Paraplanning; however, there is the potential to progress into a trainee advisory role for the right individual and if this is your desired career path. LEBC are well known for offering the opportunity to progress and having the quality mentors available to help train those that desire it. We are, however, more than open to the idea of a career Paraplanner, which in turn offers its own rewards.
Knowledge Skills & Experience Required
To be successful in this Paraplanning role you will have a firm understanding of financial services, strong technical knowledge, and experience across the full range of investments, pensions, retirement solutions, estate planning and protection business. This role will be heavily focused on the pensions market, giving advice to scheme members on their Defined Benefit Pension Schemes. A knowledge of Defined Benefit Schemes and Liability Management Exercises would be an advantage.
You should ideally have experience in a range of tasks including cash flow modelling, research and analysis, and writing clear, client centric suitability reports.
You will be a good communicator with the ability to manage your own workload in line with agreed service levels. You will thrive working in a fast-paced environment where no two projects are the same. You will be computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft Office and industry software such as Select a Pension, Financial Express Analytics, Defaqto Engage and the ability to learn out CRM systems.
You should hold a level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning although we will consider those who are part qualified with relevant experience. Any targets to progress beyond this will be fully supported by the company.
Salary: Dependent on Experience
